Govt decides to consult allies for Senate Deputy Chairman candidate

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government has decided that the name for the Senate Deputy Chairman candidate will be announced after consultation with the allies.

According to details, a meeting on political affairs was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the current political situation was considered. The Prime Minister was briefed on the contacts made for the election of the Senate Chairman.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister also consulted with the party leaders on the by-election strategy for NA-249 Karachi. Meeting decided that the NA-249 candidate would be selected by the Parliamentary Board.

A meeting of government leaders and the legal team was also held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister on the issue of blocking the notification of Yousuf Raza Gillani s victory as a senator.
